The catwalk was buzzing yesterday with the BCBG Max Azria Spring / Summer 2016 collection under way. The French designer of Tunisian descent, Max Azria, brought to the fashion world a stunning mixture of American pragmatism and European chic.

The BCBG Max Azria spring 2016 lineup features an array of outfits that take us somewhere near beach. The crystal aqua of the water, the sun-bleached yellow of the sand and the white of the clouds have been brought together to invite the most exquisite and elegant hues from romantic France, which finally have found their appropriate place on American-style casual pieces designed by Max Azria. Just a glance at the collection and we will notice that the designer has attired all his models with several pieces one over the other thus creating asymmetric hems, a style so typical of beachcombers. Most frequently, we see dresses with clinging long-sleeve tops underneath them and short cropped jackets, long vests, massive ponchos or military-inspired coats carrying over them. There are outfits combining floaty pants with knee-length gossamer fabric dresses and jackets. The runway is rich in overlong sleeves, loose-fitting oversized shoulders and flaring asymmetric hems. The abundance of all shades on one single look may seem to convert you into a rainbow girl. The prints spotted on the fabrics range from stripes and abstract forms to chevron and floral patterns that are in most cases mixed together on one single look.

All the outfits are styled with bucket hats that are intended to protect the beachcombers from the sun rays, while they are searching for necessary objects. The collection is also prominent with its sock-style beach footwear and still trendy fringed cross-bags with suede finish.

The runway was impressive not only with its wanderer-style designing solutions but also with the models catwalking absent-mindedly and acting like real indigent people, the only source of living for them being the beach.

I absolutely love each and every piece in the collection! What do you think of it?
