Hi ladies! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I know the title of this post says “Back to School” closet essentials, but really these are essentials for any girl’s Fall closet. Every piece in this post can be mixed and matched to your own liking, so let’s get started!
For tops, think about tops that you can wear now and layer with outerwear going into Fall. A lightweight tank can be worn alone in the summer and layered with a jean jacket or cardigan in the Fall. Button-up shirts can be worn alone or paired with a puffer vest.

For bottoms, there are five pieces that I would really consider as “essentials” : A pair of black skinny jeans, a pair of high rise skinnies, a pair of dark wash jeans, leggings, and a patterned skirt. The leggings are perfect for wearing with longer shirts and high boots, and they’re the most comfortable staple for Fall!

For shoes, comfort is KEY as you’ll be walking from class to class each day, so you don’t want to invest in uncomfortable shoes or shoes that cause blisters. Flats are great for everyday walking and are really trendy for Fall. As for boots, riding boots, short boots, and a pair of rain boots are three essentials as you’ll more than likely be walking in the rain some of the days.

For accessories, a simple, gold watch can add a more classy tone to your outfit. A tote bag can be used instead of a backpack for a more stylish look, and it’s also easier to get things out from a tote bag. A floppy hat can change any look, hence it’s a great item to have in your closet. Agendas come in plenty of cute patterns and are great for keeping organized!
