Columbus Fashion Week Model Casting

Columbus Fashion Week is a non-profit organization showcasing local and emerging designers while providing scholarships to fashion design students. It consists of an entire week of everything fashion-related, from stores and restaurants providing discounts to runway shows with beautifully dressed models.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, I attended the Model Casting Call for CMH Fashion Week. It was held at Park Street Saloon here in Columbus, Ohio. When I first entered the venue, I felt a little nervous as I could hear crowds of people and loud music radiating through the doors of the bar. All the models had to fill out a form backstage, listing our information and measurements, after which we went to get our headshots taken. Then, we lined up to go onstage and were briefed quickly on where to walk while onstage. I have to admit, it was a little nerve-wrecking watching all the models in front of me strut their stuff while I stood waiting for my turn. When it was all over, I felt so happy and proud that I had this amazing opportunity in a very upbeat venue to show myself to everyone. I could tell that the judges (several who were recruiting from Sigal Models and Heyman Talent Agency were very pleased with all of our struts. This entire experience was very eye-opening and something I would definitely participate in again in the future.
